LP® I-Joists

LP Building Products

LP I-Joists are structural members manufactured by combining top and bottom flanges with webs of various depths. Our I-Joists are engineered to be straighter, stiffer, stronger and more consistent in performance than solid sawn lumber joists. In essence, we’ve taken the tree apart and put it back together with sophisticated manufacturing to outperform traditional lumber products.

LP® LVL

LP laminated veneer lumber (LVL) is a significant improvement over solid wood beams. Problems that naturally occur as solid sawn lumber dries—twisting, splitting, checking, crowning and warping—are greatly reduced. And pound-for-pound, LP LVL has more load-carrying capacity than solid sawn lumber. The end result is a building material that’s more reliable and high-performing than traditional lumber. And, unlike traditional solid sawn beams, it comes in custom sizes and is backed by a limited lifetime warranty.

Wood I-Joist Advantages Over Conventional Lumber

  • Wider flange for greater nailing and gluing surfaces
  • Resists shrinking or twisting
  • Lightweight and easier to handle
  • Greater dimensional stability and uniform depth
  • Uses less wood fiber (so more of the tree can be utilized)
  • Ideal for complex framing plans
  • Meets PRI™-400, the I joist performance standard from APA-The Engineered Wood Association
  • Electrical conduit, plumbing and most HVAC can be passed through the web
  • Backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty
  • Longer lengths readily available
  • Longer spans and more load carrying capacity per pound
  • Speed of construction is up to 50% faster.
